Weddings. An ideal wedding site, the Westwind Hotel in Placencia is a place where your Caribbean wedding dreams will come true. Along with our site services we offer a photograph package, including 36 prints (4 to a page), a CD-ROM of all images taken (edited and unedited), contact sheets for edited images and a digital video. Scuba diving. A vast variety of sea life can be found in the waters surrounding the Belize reef.

The beach. Relaxing on the beach is why people come to Pt. Placencia. Just remember to bring your sunscreen and a hat. We have beach towels for those of you who forget them. The Westwind has several beach chairs available for sunning; however, if they are all taken, there are several palm trees to hang out under and get filtered light. The beach also is the place to catch the spectacular sunrises in Placencia. Check it out if you can rise between 5 and 6 a.m.!

The garden. We invite you to enjoy our living collection of tropical plants. The display includes tropical fruits such as mango and papaya, and plants from tropical and subtropical climates including tropical flowering trees, hibiscus, palms and cycads as well as many wild orchid species.

Land and sea tours. Apart from relaxation, traveler's visit Pt. Placencia for the ultimate diving and snorkeling experience. Running along our Caribbean Coast is the largest reef in the Western Hemisphere. Scuba dive packages are available. Please contact us for daily or weekly rates.
Another highlight of the southern Belize area are the Mayan Ruins and Jungle River tours. Sightseeign at Nim Li Punit, a late classic site of the ancient Mayas is one of the few land tours taht the local tour operators offer travelers. On another tour you can see colorful Scarlet Macaws and Black Howler Monkey's in their own habitats. Either contact us in advance or upon your arrival to set up a land tour. Tours run usually with a minimum of four clients.
If being on the surface of the sea is more your style, sailing cruises are also available in Pt. Placencia. Tour operators provide day sailing to the local cayes, overnight trips to the cayes near Belize City and a Sunset Cruise in Placencia once a week. Check out the tour operators upon your arrival or just splash around in the hotel dory.
