Relax at the Westwind Hotel

After visiting the "hot spots" in Belize we decided to visit the more laid back Placencia Village. We picked the Westwind Hotel after searching the Internet. We are so happy we did. The Westwind is on the beach, and on the "sidewalk" - in very laid back Placencia. We had a wonderful time reading, diving, & relaxing. George and Lisa are great hosts - you feel like part of the family from Lisa's coffee in the morning to George's history lessons in the evening. We now go back as often as we can - the perfect place to unwind, relax, and recharge you batteries.

Fantastic Location

Our family of 4 just spent Christmas at this wonderful place at the beach. The location was perfect--right on the beach shared only with other guests and away from the noise of town.

Great Amenities

The hotel owners (Lisa and George) live on the premises (in the penthouse) and are very friendly, always available for assistance but not in the least bit intrusive. Breakfast is served each day (local fruit and coffee)...Kayaks and snorkeling equipment is available free of charge and you can take them out to the corals around the mangrove (1 km away). We were able to see sting rays and barracudas there! Internet is available for a nominal fee per hour.

Great Place, Nice Owners

The location of the hotel is fairly central to the rest of the town and you can easily walk everywhere you need. We stayed in a room on the second floor with air conditioning. If you can not sleep well in the heat, you should consider getting A/C in your room...The tiki hut on the beach with several hammocks is a relaxing place to spend a few hours.
